Missouri Foxtrotter Riding Academy @ Endless Valley Stables Spring Green, WI 3-Day-Program Day 1 Friday a.m. Breakfast & Discussion Importance of: * Conditioning & preparing your Foxtrotter to gait under saddle * Communicating effectively with your hands & seat * Getting your Foxtrotter to relax under saddle (so they can gait properly). * Teaching your Foxtrotter to Work & Focus. * Putting your Foxtrotter in a Frame to achieve the gait your desire. * Identifying Gaits * The importance of the Flat Foot Walk. Saddle Up Each participant will be riding at least 2 different school horses, that are set in their gaits. This is to help the participants to become familiar with what the gaits are, what they feel like, and what they sound like. By riding more than 1 school horse, the participants will also get to experience how different each horse can feel and teach them to find the gaits on each horse. Will Cover: * Good Equitation * Balanced Seat * Soft Hands - 4 oz. Of pressure * Collection & Framing * Finding and recognizing the Gaits * Staying IN the Gait * Transition from one gait to another & back down * Making adjustments from one horse to another Lunch Friday p.m. Presentation of Participants Foxtrotters - Riders saddle & ride their own Foxtrotters * Riders Form - Riding in a balanced Seat * Hands, Seat & Legs - Communicating with your body * Teaching your Foxtrotter to WORK - getting them in a Work frame of mind * Developing the Walk - Power Walk & Flat Foot Walk * Getting your Foxtrotter to RELAX so it can gait properly * How to Frame Up your Foxtrotter (Collection) * CONSISTENCY * Asking for the gait - recognizing the gait - holding the gait * Transitioning up & down into the different gaits Short Trail Ride: *Giving your Foxtrotter Confidence on the Trails *How to work on Gaits on the Trails Question & Answer Session Day 2 Saturday a.m. Tack: Keeping it SIMPLE Saddles - Importance of Saddle Fitting Saddle Pads Bits - Bridles - Reins Spurs Farrier Info: Arena Work: Riders Saddled on their own Foxtrotters - MORE PRACTICE * Riding Balanced * Refining soft hands and Collection * Flat Foot Walk - the importance of developing the Flat Foot Walk * Asking for a gait - recognizing the gait - holding the gait * Transition up & down out of gait * Getting & keeping your Foxtrotter relaxed * Keeping your Foxtrotter in a Frame Lunch Saturday p.m. Trail Ride: * Working on Consistency of Gaits while Trail Riding * Giving your Foxtrotter Confidence on the Trail * Handling Obstacles Question and Answer Session Day 3 Sunday a.m. Breakfast Arena Work: Riders Saddled on their own Foxtrotters - MORE PRACTICE * Setting Horse in proper Frame * Getting & Keeping your horse relaxed * Asking for the gait - recognizing the gait - holding the gait * Transition up & down out of gaits Lunch Question & Answer Session Trail Ride: *More practice - working on gaits on the trails Cost for our 3-Day-Program which also includes breakfast and lunch (Friday, Sat. & Sun.) $450.00 (you and your horse) $550.00 (you and a school horse) $200.00 Non-refundable deposit Contact Endless Valley Stable for accommodations. |
